- If you've spent a fair amount of time in earlier versions of DaVinci Resolve, you're going to love this new little feature in DaVinci Resolve 12 that's meant to make it easier to navigate through our external drives, and that's the media browser favorites bookmarks. Yes, you heard me right, so let's go ahead and let's favorite the exercise files from this training, and I'm going to double click, and yeah, I have to go through this whole routine, getting down to the desktop, and then getting to my media files. Once I get there, I can right click, and there it is. Add folder to favorites, and boom, I've just bookmarked it, and then while we're at it, we can also go to Pro Res LT, right click, and bookmark that, and now I have instant access to really just about any main drive or directory that I need instant access to. No more wasting my time digging, digging, digging, digging to get down to the media I need. Of course, I could also remove them. I just right click on a bookmark, remove folder from favorites, and remove folder from favorites, and we're back to our default. The thing to note is, once you add a favorite, not only is it added to every project in the user, it's added to every single project in the entire database across every single user, so you can go ahead and bookmark your common media areas that you want all your different colors to use, and they'll be there every time they create a new project.
