Matching skin tone: The fundamentals

- When it comes to matching shots, there probably isn't anything more difficult than matching people, skin tones. That's a huge question I get all the time “Patrick do you have any tips for helping me match skin tones?” The first rule to remember is we’re not matching the skin tones of different people to each other. What we're doing is matching the skin tone of an individual across that person across multiple shots. Right? So the point is we don't want to make everyone have the same exact skin tone, because that's what will tend to happen when I show you the next tool that we can use to help us matching skin tones and it's located on the vectorscope. So we go ahead and call up our scopes and I got the vectorscope set up here. Let’s even make it a little bit larger. When I call up the options, there's a little check box called show skin tone indicator. What happens when I click that? I get this line that pops up here.
