Gallery: The Reference Wipe

- So now that we’ve grabbed stills, put them into the gallery, put them into our memories, what’s next? And that’s called playing the reference wipe. So for a moment, let’s go ahead and just hide our memories for a second, and we’re looking at our stills. Now the concept is, I want to compare this look, this cooler look, to this particular shot. How do I do that? I’ve got a couple ways. The most obvious is to double click on a still, and it pulls it up here into the viewer, and now we’ve got a wipe that we can pull between the two shots. Notice as I go too far, it kind of, the wipe wraps around. This kind of drives me nuts. If you don’t want that to happen, come down here into your Project Settings, go to General Options, and deselect Wipe Wraps when viewing reference stills. I’m going to turn that off. Click save, and now I’ll no longer get that behavior. So it won’t wrap around on me. So I can do these really quick wipes, not have it wrap around. The other way of activating a still,…
