- Honestly, I debated whether to include this movie in training designed to get you up and running in DaVinci Resolve 12. What we're about to discuss is a fairly advanced topic. The thing is, I know a significant minority of you are watching this specifically to use DaVinci Resolve with RAW, LOG, or Look-Up Tables. So, consider this movie, and the next few, the absolute fundamentals of getting started knowing we dig much deeper on these in our other DaVinci Resolve titles. Now, if you've never heard the terms LOG, RAW, or LUTs, here's what you need to know. Let's start with RAW. When we talk about recording RAW off of a camera, what we're talking about is a file format that gives us the signal straight off the camera's imaging sensor. In traditional cameras, exposure, white balance, saturation adjustments, these are automatically applied during recording to give us an immediately pleasing picture, like the images you shoot on your smartphone.
