- Automatic scene cut detection, it's a fantastic workflow, if you don't have the time or the inclination to go through the entire XML workflow. The concept's simple, take your locked picture, remove all your titles, remove all your color corrections, render out a single Quicktime movie, and hand that movie to the colorist. You don't have to go through any of the hassle of the XML process, and the conform is greatly simplified, and the colorist never has to worry if the timeline is correct or not. Of course, the colorist has to go and find every single edit point by hand, and on a 60 minute or 90 minute type of job, they would probably go insane. That's where the automatic part of automatic scene cut detection comes into play. Let's take a look.
