- Hi my name is Rich Harrington and I'm Robbie Carman. - On this weeks show we're going to take a look at a type of slider. Now, we've talked about sliders before in the past and maybe you have seen some of the episodes we've explored in our other series DSLR videotapes. In this weeks show we're going to talk about a parabolic slider, which is a fancy word, Rob, you are the king of fancy words. What does parabolic mean? - Well, I also wasn't the greatest in math in school, but I know that it has something to do with Geometry or shape or curve, and that's exactly what it is. It's a parabolic curve, and the whole thing about parabolic sliders is that they give you an advantage that you're not going to find with a traditional linear slider. That is when you use a traditional linear slider, as you move, you are kind of getting further away from your subject and things like focus can change, depth of field can change, and that kind of stuff.
