Using a dolly

- Hi, my name's Rich Harrington. - And I'm Robbie Carman. - And this week on Video Gear Weekly, we're gonna talk about puttin' the camera in motion. Now, I don't mean just moving the camera. I mean smoothly moving the camera, which is an art form. I mean anybody can walk with the camera. - [Robbie] Yeah, no. I mean, what we're really talking about is sort of dolly moves, right? In moving the camera that way and, there's a whole lot of levels to dolly moves. Ya know, from simply putting, ya know, a camera on a desk chair and wheeling it down the hallway to, ya know, small units like these ones that we have on the table to more professional units with dolly track or PVC piping and things of that nature. So, there's a whole lot of levels and a whole lot of different levels of sophistication and sort of costs, to be honest with you, that are involved and I'm really excited about this week because I think one of the things that really sort of, gives me, in my opinion, sort of the appearance of high production value, is that movement and that dolly move. So, yeah, as Rich said, this week, we're gonna dive into all these different levels and explain some of the sorta pros and cons, how to, ya know, what these systems entail. - Alright, so let's jump in and start to explore.
