- Okay, so Rich, we've talked about a couple different audio options. Obviously we've talked about splitting the signal so we get our headphones and the mic attached, we talked about the shotgun, we talked about the lav, but you know what? I have a large collection of professional mics. Now, what do I mean by a professional mic? - Well, it probably has an XLR connection and it probably needs a power source which this has neither. - Yeah, there's lots of ways that you could go about this. You could have a separate recorder using the professional mic, you could go through an audio mixer and pump it out over an 1/8 inch stereo jack. But there's actually a cool little gadget that I have come to love and that's this little iRig Pre. - Yeah and this is basically was designed for people who needed to record into their device. iRig originally made devices that were designed for people to plug their guitars in to the iPad and now they've expanded so anything with an XLR cable can come in. -…
