Reviewing some Live View drawbacks

Live View is great for certain shooting situations, as we discussed, but it also has some drawbacks. Running the LCD screen takes a tremendous amount of power. This is why if your battery is running low it's a good idea to turn off the image review on your camera, and to not spend any time looking at images you've already shot. Because Live View requires the LCD screen, it's a big battery drain. So you want to keep an eye on your battery status if you're doing a lot of Live View shooting. If you know you're heading into a situation that requires a lot of Live View then you might want to consider investing in some additional batteries.

If you're trying to shoot unobtrusively in the darker environment, such as a performance or concert, then the light from the LCD screen might be disturbing to people around you.
