- [Instructor] When we record acoustic instruments or vocals into a Cubase project, I think it's fair to say it's virtually always best to record them dry. In other words, record the audio with no effects added, and this is because it provides us with the most flexibility when mixing the project. If the main vocal was recorded with reverb and delay added, for example, it makes it more difficult to mix with the other instruments because effects are part of the file. Now to be fair, the vocal file that we've listened to recently has reverb and delay effects embedded into the recording, and as a result, they can't be removed. Have a listen to this vocal again, and you'll hear the embedded effects. To make hearing those effects easier, I've got it in solo mode. ♪ Can't forget the feeling ♪ ♪ The first time that we kissed ♪ - [Instructor] Okay, so we heard the vocal with embedded reverb and delay.
