In this chapter, I want to introduce you to the sample application that I will be compiling with the PhoneGap built service. If you're a lynda.com premium subscriber, you'll have access to a sample application. If you're not, don't worry. Almost any HTML page will work for you, to understand the foundations of using PhoneGap Build to create native mobile applications. As you can imagine, developing a complete mobile application is a course or two unto itself. With that, let's take a look at our sample application. Our application is a prototype of a mobile guide for the fictional San Angelico Museum of Contemporary Arts.
The SAMOCA app only has a few screens built out. Let's take a look at it. You can find these files inside the exercise file folder that you downloaded, so go ahead and open it. Inside chapter three, inside chapter 03_01, you'll find our sample application. Let's go ahead and click on the index.html file to open this in a web browser. Here we have our sample application. Lemme just walk you through some of the content here. We can look at Current Exhibits.
We can look at Past Exhibits. We can learn more about the museum itself. As well as some interesting on device capabilities. Like being able to use a camera to read a QR code to find more information about an exhibit. We'll explore this in a later part of the course.
