Doing an SD-to-HD upconversion

It used to be that I would discuss all the time about doing up conversion and down conversion. Up conversion is taking a smaller format like standard def, and blowing it up to high definition, which is fine, but everything looks off of course, because you know, we're blowing up. We're not adding information, we're just blowing up what we have. And the reverse is true, taking high definition stuff and down converting it. The standard definition. We don't talk too much about the latter, although it happens all the time in our compression. We do talk still a little bit about the former, about taking standard def information, blowing it up to high def. All of the major enilies in the market don't care anymore about this, but if you wanted to, you could build your own preset for up conversion. And to do that, I'm going to take one of the pro res presets. And just change the aperture information. I use, all the time, ProRes 422, and I'm just going to drag and drop it here to this specific…
