What is digital citizenship?

- [Voiceover] What is digital citizenship? Digital citizenship refers to the norms and principles which we're expected to follow when interacting online. Being a good digital citizen is not much different than being a good citizen in the everyday world we live in. Being respectful and responsible are foundations. Treating others the way that you'd like to be treated and taking measures to keep yourself and others safe and secure are vital. In this course, we'll break down digital citizenship into six different elements. They include digital footprint, which refers to your collective trail of actions as you participate online. Digital etiquette, also known as netiquette, refers to the best practices for behaving responsibly online. Digital access, which refers to one's ability to participate online.
