- [Eric] Hello, I'm Eric Chappell and welcome to Site Design using AutoCAD Civil 3D. In this course, you're going to learn how to perform two major components of site design. Grading and storm design. You'll learn all about how feature lines, grading objects and surfaces can be leveraged to shape the ground to just what it needs to be for your site to slope, drain, and perform properly. Then, you'll gain the skills needed to use Civil 3D pipe networks to collect and convey storm water from your site. Finally, you'll put your grading skills to work, once again, to create the pond that will be needed for storm water detention. As you learn these skills, you won't just be learning how to get things done. You'll be learning techniques that make the software do the hard work for you. Not only the first time you design it, but also for all those inevitable design changes that are going to come along as the project progresses. Okay, let's jump in and begin.
