Using a switch
- [Narrator] As we said in our video on decisions, we need to move beyond simple yes and no and into multiple options in order for our Subassemblies to really be able to take on a life of their own. This is why we need a switch. Now, switches are still limited to 11 potential scenarios, but this is vastly more potential than a decision. So, let's see how these work. First of all, switches are located under the Workflow heading on the toolbox, and of course, just like everything else, a simple drag and drop into the flowchart will add them. Notice with a switch, much like a decision, I'm required to enter a Visual Basic expression in order for this to work. If I hit the ellipsis here I notice something else we talked about during our enumeration video, which is that the expression itself has to be a string.
