Using the exercise files
If you are a Premium member of the lynda.com library, you have access to the exercise files used through out this course. You can download the files from the Exercise Files button on the main page for this course. You'll find Exercise Files for each chapter within the Exercise Files folder on your desktop. Notice that each chapter has its own folder and the files for each chapter are contained within. It's best if you open the files from the Civil 3D application. So for example, to open a file in chapter two, I would click the Open icon and browse to my Desktop in the Exercise Files folder. And then chapter two. And here I see the files listed. Pick the file I want to open, select it and open. Most of the movies in this course have Exercise Files that you can load up, so you can follow along with the same project that I am working on. I you don't have access to the Exercise Files, you can follow along or use your own files. Please note that this course was developed for imperial units and the drawing files that go along with the course were prepared using imperial units. Okay. Let's get started.
