Understanding parts lists

- As you can guess, gravity pipe networks can get fairly complex with lots of parts. Let's explore how the parts list helps you keep everything organized and standardized as you design gravity networks. When you think about it, structures, for example, are pretty sophisticated objects. They have a complex 3D shape, they have connection points that determine where pipes connect to them, they have default values that make up how they're initially created in the model and they even may have default styles associated with them. So how do you keep all this organized and how do you make some of these things happen automatically when you create these objects in the model? The answer is through parts list, and to find them, I'll go to the settings tab and there's actually a section for them under pipe network parts list. Here we see one called storm sewer and I'll just simply right click and pick edit so that we can take a look inside. Looking inside this parts list, we see that for pipes…
