Setting a slope along a feature line

- [Instructor] Another useful skill when preforming grading design is the ability to set a grade along a feature line that passes through multiple points. Let's see how that's done. So if I click this feature line and let's just say as an example, we want to set a grade along multiple segments through multiple points on this feature line. Let's say from this point here, we want to set a five percent slope that wraps the whole way around up to this corner and up to the far corner in the top right. So the distances vary between these points. The geometry varies. I've got curves. I've straight line segments. I've got right angles. There's lots going on between those two points. I've even got an elevation point along the way. But I want Civil 3D to do all the work of figuring out if I tell it, I want a five percent slope along that entire path, I want Civil 3D to calculate the elevation at each point and set that elevation for me.
