- [Instructor] With our introduction to visual basic expressions to do more granular programming tasks and a good working knowledge of the flowchart, let's put them together now and make some decisions. Decisions really are the next logical step for how we want to build. As we've seen in a few videos, having a positive or a negative before a slope, for example, in fact matters a great deal and it's very difficult to understand how to make a subassembly that can handle both cut and fill without having the ability to make decisions or, rather, having Civil 3D make the decisions for us based upon some kind of criteria that we give it. And that's what we're going to do right now. So decisions are simply a this or a that, a yes or a no, an if and a than, and nothing more. So, we're going to start for with an empty subassembly in the Subassembly Composer and we're going to build a simple subassembly that makes a decision and ties back to a surface target whether it's in cut or in fill…
