- Part Builder is a separate part of Civild 3D where you can customize the parts included with the software, or even create your own. We can easily have a course devoted to Part Builder, but in this video, we'll just give you a taste and show you how to make a simple modification to a part family. Let's say we want to create some HDPE pipes in our project, but in this area where we're working, we've got the unique situation where manufacturers in this area create 21 inch HDPE pipes, and in every other area we've worked, we've never seen this size before, so it's never been added to our parts list. So we'll go into the settings tab and expand Pipe Network and Parts Lists, right click Residential Storm and click Edit. And if I right click Corrugated HDPE and pick Add part size, you'll notice that there is no 21 inch diameter available, it goes straight from 24 to 30. So if I want a 21 inch diameter, I'm going to have to find another way to create it, and that's where Part Builder comes…
