Illustrating a pipe crossing

- At times you will need to represent the crossing of one pipe network through the path of another. In this video, we'll take a look at how that's done, using a profile view, and a special style. In our example drawing, we have a case where a sanitary sewer line here represented in purple, is crossing through the path of our storm system. Now, at this view we can't tell if the pipes are conflicting or not. And one thing we're going to need to be able to show, and prove, on our construction plans, and our bidding documents, and approval plans, is that we don't have any pipe conflicts underground. So how can we show this pipe, in reference to, this storm system? Well, we start the same way that we did before, as far as showing pipes on a profile view. We'll click the pipe, go to the Draw Parts in Profile view command, and click that. And then simply click the profile view where we want it to exist.
