Join Eric Chappell for an in-depth discussion in this video Editing an alignment numerically, part of Civil 3D: Basic Roadway Design.
…Sometimes you will want to be very precise in the way that…you edit alignments by providing exact numerical values for…things like curve radii, PI stations, and so on.…In this video, we'll look at two methods for numerically editing your alignments to…really refine your design and get things exactly where they need to be.…Let's get started.…The first method I'm going to show you is called the sub entity editor.…But with both of the methods that I'm going to demonstrate for…you, they start out the same way.…And that's with the geometry editor command.…
So to launch that command I'll click the alignment,…click geometry editor on the contextual ribbon.…Bringing up the alignment layout tools toolbar.…The sub entity editor tool is on this toolbar, and it's located right here.…When I launch the tool it brings up the alignment layout parameters dialogue,…which at first is blank because I haven't selected a sub entity.…To do that, I use a special tool here for selecting sub-entities.…So let me launch that tool, and I'll pan down to the south and select this curve.…
