Join Jon Michael Roberts for an in-depth discussion in this video Designing profiles, part of Learning Civil 3D.
…Profiles in Civil 3D can serve various uses.…In some cases such as this cross sectional profile here, it's purely for…illustrative purposes.…But I can also use a profile to further my design of a driveway,…as will be done in my driveway centerline profile.…I'm going to use this profile to describe the vertical design of the driveway…as it runs down the hill.…To do this, I'll go back to my menu ribbon to the profile's area.…
But instead of creating a surface profile, because I already have.…I'm going to launch the profile creation tools.…It's going to ask me for which profile I'll be working within.…So I just click anywhere within that profile,…it automatically populates it with the alignment that's connected with it.…And I'm going to name this design profile, driveway design profile.…I'm going to chose my profile style in this case a design profile is appropriate.…
And I want a complete label set.…Note also that you again have the ability to select criteria based design that will…control what are the acceptable vertical curves and slopes in your driveway.…
