- [Voiceover] You've learned a bit about pipe network styles in Civil 3D, so now let's take a look at how structure styles affect the appearance of structures. And let's take a look at a practical example. I'm going to zoom in on this manhole here, and we see that it's currently represented with a circle and a letter "D." But this representation is just a marker, a placeholder that shows us that a manhole exists here. It doesn't actually show what its true dimensions are in the field, and to demonstrate that, I'm going to change the scale of the drawing. I'll change it from 1" = 20' to 1" = 40', and we can see how large the manhole gets. How could it be that large at a different scale? It must not be truly representing the dimensions of the manhole, and that's exactly the case, and that is as designed. We want this symbol representing the manhole to always look a certain way, a certain size, regardless of the scale of the drawing so it's always clear what it represents. But let's say,…
