Adjust the building pad
- [Voiceover] Now that the building pad is established, it's time to set it at the appropriate elevation. Let's see how that's done. Now, what is the appropriate elevation for a building pad? Well, we want to promote good drainage on the lot, which typically means, if possible, we want all water flowing away from the building. As you can imagine, having rain flowing toward a building during a rainstorm could be bad news, with flooding of the structure or the basement garage, whatever the case may be, so we want to move that water away. And a great way to do that is to place the building pad higher than anything else on the lot. Now, that's not always possible, and when it isn't, things get a little more complicated. We're gonna keep it simple in this example, and let's say that we are able to do that. So, to complete this process, we're gonna start by figuring out which is the highest lot corner.
