- [Narrator] We use Simple Network Management Protocol to monitor and manage the network. Simple Network Management Protocol components include the manager, which is also known as the network management server, managed devices such as workstations, printers and routers, agents that collect data from the device and then stores information in a local Management Information Base, and the Management Information Base, which is also called the Management Information Database. This is where the agent's references are stored in a hierarchy format. We'll enable Simple Network Management Protocol on a router. And here we can see those two lines of code that allows us to put a community name for read only access and a community name for read write access. I'm in Packet Tracer.
