- [Russell] Without routing, we would not be able to access resources across networks. In fact, without Layer 3 technologies, we wouldn't be able to access the Internet itself. So we are going to explore Layer 3, or routing technologies, at the CCNA level. Hi, I'm Russell Long, and I've been working professionally in IT for over 17 years. I've served in several roles in my career, starting as a Layer 1 splicing tech for copper and fiber, and ending my career as a data center administrator. In this course, we are going to cover the basics of Layer 3 routing and some of the different dynamic routing protocols and how they work.
Our focus is going to be on medium-sized networks. We will look at the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of many of these dynamic protocols. We will talk a bit about the security of those protocols. And as I mentioned before, we are working at Layer 3 of the OSI model, or routing. We have a great deal to cover here, so let's go ahead and get started.
