Device pools

- [Instructor] We've been talking about, over the past few videos, the importance of a device pool. We said, if we have a device pool already pre-populated, then when we add IP phones, we can just assign that device pool to an IP phone and it's going to inherit lots of configuration parameters appropriate for its location. For example, is it located at HQ? Is it located at BR1? Because those different sites, they're going to be in different time zones. They could potentially be using different media resources. If we're placing a call between sites, we might want to make sure we don't oversubscribe the WAN bandwidth. We might want to negotiate the codec we use between those two sites. Those kinds of parameters can be put into a device pool and we've already created a device pool with some basic parameters for HQ. Let's go review that. Click under System, Device Pool.
