- [Instructor] Another server that we might find in a Cisco Unified Communications Network is a Cisco Instant Messaging and Presence Server. Or you might hear that call a Cisco IM and Presence Server, or simply a Cisco IM and P Server. And it's going to perform several features for us including presence. First of all, let's define presence. Presence is the willingness of somebody to take a call. For example, if you come into my office and we're going to have a meeting, I might press the do not disturb soft key on my phone to say, I don't want to be disturbed. All that information is my willingness to take a call. I'm saying I'm not willing to take a call right now, and that can be communicated to a Cisco Jabber Client by maybe illuminating a red dot next to my name in the Cisco Jabber contact list, or on a Cisco IP phone.
