- [Instructor] Assigning privilege levels provides flexibility in controlling access to the managed devices. However, there are some limitations and it can be complex. For example, if a support staff member needs access to several but not all the commands, the administrator must customize privilege levels and assign different commands to levels two through 14. In a small organization, this could be possible but in a large shop providing access for everyone, can be complex. To overcome the limitations of assigning privilege levels, the administrator should use role-based CLI. That provides granular control by restricting what commands are available according to a specific role. It's like a group policy for your managed devices. Role-based CLI access is also called parser views. And this defines what CLI commands each user can access. And provides four views that control the available commands.
