- [Instructor] In addition to testing how your app or webpage will look and work on smaller screens, it's also important to think about the user experience at a range of Internet connection speeds. It's super common that we develop apps over a faster, fixed broadband connection, anything from DSL to fiber. But over half of Web use is on mobile devices. And although the speed of mobile broadband in developed countries and major cities can approach that of home and office connections, this isn't true for a lot of Web users. If you want the largest possible audience for your app, and most of us do, you need to design with everyone in mind. The Device Toolbar includes a dropdown menu with a default value of Online. When I click the arrow, I see a few options: Mid-tier mobile, Low-end mobile, and Offline. Online, the default, uses the connection speed on my computer.
