Repair what can you control
- When we hear of reputation damage, we often think of Martha Stewart going to jail over insider trading, or Christian Bale being charged with domestic violence, or even Representative Anthony Weiner and his affinity for taking selfies. So how could we trust them again if they have flawed personalities? Their judgement is imperfect and their behavior leads us to distrust their sincerity and even their brand. Now before you start thinking of yourself as innocent, let me remind you that even non-celebrities damage their reputation. Let's say you drank too much at the holiday party, and said things on a YouTube video that your boss found offensive. Or you attempt to reclaim your youth by dressing in your teenage daughter's clothes, which are too small and inappropriate for your corporate job.
