- No one is infallible. As sure as we are human we're gonna make mistakes. Some of those mistakes can be quietly dismissed and hidden in the darkness of night, and others feel like they show up on the first page of a Google search with flashing neon lights surrounding them. Well, in either case, repairing a reputation is serious, and it's time consuming, but it's important work. The field I work in is called Reputation Management, and it's how we build and sustain our personal brand. You have a personal brand and it's formed into your reputation in the minds of the people that you wanna target. If they see you as valuable, they wanna work with you, hire you or invest in you. If the see you as troubled, difficult, untrustworthy or irrelevant, they're gonna move on to the next person. When you're reputation takes a hit you need to fix it, because it is that critical. Before you watch this course, think about opportunities maybe you've lost recently. Maybe you didn't get that dream job, or you lost out on a promotion. Could it be that something about the way other people see you stopped your employer from advancing your career? Could your clients perception of you be stopping them from referring you work? Or even sending you more work? Is there something that's showing up on Google, that's preventing employers from wanting to interview you? If your reputation is fine, or even if you aren't sure you need to repair your brand, then you might also enjoy my other course, Creating Your Personal Brand. I've created a short checklist that you can use with this course, and as we navigate the assessment and action plan to fix your reputation, keep this checklist close by. You'll reference it often.
