The two methods for export

- [Voiceover] In this chapter we're gonna take a look at exporting files out of Capture One Pro to your hard drive or a connected drive. We have some interesting options. The program is very powerful in this particular area, and there's a simple way to go, and then there's a more sophisticated way to go. I'm just gonna give you an overview of each right now and then we'll dig in to each of the two methods. So the simple way to go is to select your files as I've done her, we've got two files selected, then go up to File, Export Images, and we're going to Export Variants, because I want to export these files with all of their adjustments included.

The originals would be just the original file itself, which does have its use. Most of the time, however, we're gonna work on our pictures in Capture One Pro, and then we're gonna send those images out fully baked with all those wonderful changes that we've made to make them even better than they were when we originally captured them. So we're gonna export via variants most of the time, and the simple way brings up this dialogue box here. We'll walk through it in a subsequent movie.

I just want to show you what we have. And we go through and make a few adjustments here, set up the parameters the way that we want, and then we would export the files. So that's the simple way to do it. Now, the more sophisticated way to do it is still have these images selected as we do here, and then go to the Output tab. Yes, it has its own tab right here, the Output tab up here at the top, and here we have Process Recipes.

Some have been created already. We can create our own. And we can run one or more of these recipes at once. So this could be very powerful if you have to output, let's say three different sizes or a couple different formats, you could simply do that by just checking the boxes of the various recipes and then running the job. When we dig into how to do this, we're gonna get into all of these different areas here, the recipe itself, the output location, output naming, summary, reviewing the progress as it goes, there's a lot going on here (laughs) I mean, you can export in real style.

So the simple way, the more sophisticated way, we're gonna cover both of those in this chapter.
