Once you have a referenced catalog set up, there are some tips you should know to help with managing it. In this video, instructor Derrick Story gives tips on how to manage a reference catalog in Capture One Pro 12.
- [Instructor] I want to show you a few things … about a referenced catalog. … Now, the caveat here is … that I'm not including a referenced catalog … in the Exercise Files. … So if you have access to the Exercise Files, … we only have the managed catalog, not the referenced, … mainly because having masters on a separate drive … that you don't have, well, it just doesn't work. … But I still want to show you some tricks … with a referenced catalog, … 'cause I think you will appreciate. … And I think a lot of you will be using referenced catalogs. … So again, a referenced catalog is one … where the masters live somewhere else. … They do not live in the catalog container. … In this case, I have them on this external drive, … this Media Drive. … Now, what we see here in the Folders area, … and remember Folders is down below User Collections, … what we see here is a representation … of what's happening on the hard drives. … And we can actually make moves here. … We can actually do things. …
