Radial masks are far more flexible and artistic than a standard Vignette tool. In this video, instructor Derrick Story shows how to apply those masks to photos.
- [Instructor] Capture One Pro 12 now has a radial mask tool … and I could not be happier about it. … One of the reasons why I'm thrilled about this … is that I've never been thrilled with the vignetting tool … that we have down here. … This image is a perfect example … of why we need these controls. … It's brighter out here and darker here. … I want just the opposite. … Now with the vignetting tool, … I could darken this out here … but I had no way to brighten this in here. … The radial mask can help me do that. … I have it selected right now. … You can tell by that icon right there … and this icon right here. … So let me show you what a difference this can make. … Let's take this image for example … since we have it on the screen right now … and since I've already done some work to it. … First, we'll do a face radial mask. … And just by clicking on and off, … you can see that brightening that a bit … makes a big difference. … I'm going to come over here. … There we go. … And I'm going to press the M key …
