If you want to run a referenced catalog, then there are specific settings you must make during the importing process. In this video, Derrick Story shows you how to import for a referenced catalog.
- [Voiceover] Reference catalogs give you the ability…to have your masters stored outside of the catalog container…so naturally the interface is going to look a little different…when it comes to the folders area.…So here we are looking at a reference catalog right now.…And instead of just having the catalog notation right here,…we also have media drive 1.…Media drive 1 is the external drive that I have…plugged into this computer that contains…these master files right here…and if I open it up, you'll see that we have…a hierarchy here and that right inside of here…we have 83 images and that represents…these right here, 83 shots.…
So let's go ahead and bring another group…of images into this reference catalog so you…can see how that works.…I'm going to go over here to import.…And we have a card plugged in here…it's our no name card, of course,…and destination here, under import to,…this is the big deal.…When we do a managed catalog of course…we do inside of catalog, but what I've done is…I've set up a folder on the external hard drive…
