- There are a number of project properties that you might want to look at that will affect your Captivate project in its final finished form. To explore these, I'm going to go to the Edit menu and then Preferences. On Mac that's the Adobe Captivate menu and then Preferences. The settings we're going to talk about here are going to be specific for this Captivate file only. So in the Project area, I'm going to go to the Start and End category. The first box that I recommend you check is the Preloader box. I'm sure you've had the experience online where you have to wait for what you want to watch to download. Usually, you see a little image or an animation that tells you that the content is loading, and it's a good idea to have a preloader set up for your projects so that if it takes some time for a lesson to download, users know that it's on the way.
