Merge with background

- [Instructor] You may wish to make an on-screen element part of the background of a slide or a master slide permanently, as opposed to simply locking the layer it's on. Here's how to do it. In this project, we're looking at a master slide called office. You can see the image as a layer on the timeline. Be sure that in the properties for the slide, the dropdown under background is set to custom. Now right-click the image and choose merge with background. A message displays stating, the object will be merged into the background and will no longer be a separate entity in the project. Do you wish to continue? Click yes. The image layer in the timeline disappears, and the image is now part of the background. This is useful when creating your own themes or if you don't want to worry about accidentally unlocking and moving things around.
