- [Instructor] It's probably not a huge surprise that adults learn new materials differently than kids do. Think about all the other stuff you have going on in your life at this very moment you are watching this course. It's amazing I've gotten your attention for this long, so since there is a good chance that your learners are adults, I want us to explore what makes us tick and take in information differently, so you can set your training up for success. Let's talk about Malcolm Shepherd Knowles for a bit. Knowles was an American educator who noticed that adults have a different set of learning needs than kids do. He called this, andragogy. In 1984, Knowles developed a list of specific needs to computer training for adults. These are still relevant and applicable today. Let's take a look at them in more detail.
