Using the Drop Shadow FX
- [Voiceover] The drop shadow effect is a great way to make a clip appear to float above another clip or make text a bit more readable when it's layered over another clip. Drag the drop shadow widget on to your Explore California logo to apply the clip then go up to your properties inspector to change its settings. Begin by setting the angle of the drop shadow. Turn the dial to set what angle you want the light to appear to be coming from. It's a good idea to select a single angle for all of your drop shadows so that they all appear to be cast from a consistent light source in all of your movies and within your series. Next, adjust the offset. This will determine how far this clip appears to float above the other clips. You can adjust the blur of the clip to change the quality of the light. By dragging the blur all the way down, you can produce a harsh looking shadow. While increasing the blur will make the light source feel much softer. Next adjust the opacity of the drop shadow…
