- [Instructor] When creating screencasts, where you want your viewer to follow the movements of your mouse onscreen, it can be helpful to apply a mouse or cursor effect. There are three types of cursor effects: the highlight, the spotlight, and the magnify effect. These effects can only be applied to clips recorded in Camtasia by dragging the widget onto the clip. Cursor effects all appear as effects bars, and you can access them by clicking on the small disclosure triangle at the bottom of the clip. The effects are initially applied to the entire clip, but you can trim the timing by grabbing the end of the bar and trimming it down to a more appropriate region. I'll go ahead and add each of these different effects and then trim them so that we can see each effect and work with them. (typing) Make sure your cursor is inside of the region where the highlight effect is applied. Then select the effect bar; and in the properties inspector, let's adjust the settings.
