- [Instructor] Clipping can occur when a microphone's input gain is set too high or the speaker gets too close to the mic. This results in the top of the audio being clipped off. Once clipping occurs, any audio information above the clipped point is completely lost and is not recoverable. Clipping occurs in Camtasia as the flat-top audio peak in the audio wave form of a clip. This is often seen in clips where the audio level is boosted up too high. Let's play back a few seconds of this clipped track to hear the distortion that occurs from clipping. If you're listening with headphones, you may want to turn your volume down just a bit, since this track is fairly loud. In this movie, we're going to explore working with tabs in the Safari web browser. You can clearly hear the distortion in a couple of key areas of this track.
