Understand your audience
- [Instructor] Before you begin creating your training videos, it's critical to understand your audience and adapt the training accordingly. You need to know where they're at. What is their prior knowledge? How well do they already understand the system that you're training them on? Have they used a similar tool? Have they used a previous version? Or is this brand new to them? Next, how motivated are they? Is this something that they want to be trained on or something they're required to be trained on? Also consider learning styles. You'll have visual learners, auditory learners, and hands on learners. Consider their digital literacy skills or how familiar they are with technology. You wanna make sure that you don't assume they know more than they do and frustrate learners by using unfamiliar terminology or going too fast. At the same time, you don't want to bore them by taking too long to explain things that they already know. Also understand what their needs, questions, and concerns…
