- Camtasia comes with a basic audio compression effect that can help smooth out and punch up your vocal tracks. And audio compression lives here in the Audio Effects tab. Now, the mechanics behind compression can be a bit overwhelming if you're new to audio and video production. So I'm going to keep things super-simple. I'm going to start with this first section and I'm just going to drag and drop my audio compression effect to the clip. Now watch what happens to my wave form. It gets a little squashy there. What's happened is the compression has well, it's compressed my audio. It takes the highs and lows and evens things out. All right, let's see what's going on here. I'm going to pop open my Properties panel. Make sure I've got this Audio tab selected. You can see my audio compression effect. And I'm also going to open up this audio meter. This is a new addition to Camtasia 2020 and believe me, I very much appreciate it.…
