You’re undoubtedly going to make mistakes during your recordings and need to edit or even re-records sections. There are of course things you can do to make this process easier. In this video Corbin will show you patching techniques as well as "the three clap trick" a technique he uses for marking errors during recording.
- [Voiceover] I'm going to show you a technique I use…for marking and patching errors during a recording.…You're undoubtedly going to make mistakes…during your recordings, and you're gonna have to edit…or even re-record sections.…There are of course things you can do…to make this process easier,…and one of my favorite tricks I call…the three-clap technique.…Now unfortunately there's nothing witty…about this title, it's actually quite literal.…Let me show you.…Whenever I make a mistake during my recording,…which happens all the time, first I…immediately release the mouse.…
It will be easier to patch up my do-over…if I haven't moved the mouse around…or changed anything…in my presentation.…Next, I pause the recording,…using my shortcut key.…I have the F1 key set up to pause…because I can reach it without looking.…Then I take a look at what happened.…Maybe I just flubbed the line and need to try it again,…or maybe I need to rewrite something,…my line or even my on-screen procedure.…Once that's fixed, when I'm ready,…first I click on my presentation window…
