- Capturing quality audio is at least as important as your video quality and maybe even more so. This is one area you definitely do not want to cut corners. Now, I don't have a best mic choice to offer you here. It really depends on your project, your skill level, and of course your budget. There are hundreds of options to choose from and the products are constantly being updated. So let's look at some general options and see if we can find something that works for you. After that, I recommend visiting your favorite online electronic store and checking out consumer reviews. The simplest, cheapest, and most convenient choice is of course your laptop mic. And in most cases, it also happens to be about the lowest-quality option. If this is all you have to work with, go with it.
