- [Instructor] Think of editing as the process of getting rid of mistakes, and then adding just enough refinements to enhance your story. Always begin by listening to the footage that you want to edit, so that you have an idea of what you're dealing with. I've done this already, so I'll point out where the edit points are for you. But feel free to pause this video and listen for yourself. Camtasia gives us three ways to cut unneeded footage from a clip. The first is to trim the ends of a clip. We'll begin at the end of the movie. Click on your timeline, down near the end of the clip, then press command shift equals a few times to zoom into that region. You may need to adjust your window if necessary. Then click on the clip to select it, and move your mouse down to the very end of the clip. Notice that your cursor turns into a line with an arrow pointing back towards the clip. Indicating that you're ready to make an edit. If you click and drag notice you get a heads up display that…
