In search of a quaint scene

- Literally around every corner you can find all sorts of photographic opportunities but in some ways that almost leads to complacency where you might settle for a scene that's not quite as good as you might find somewhere else around a different corner. Here for example, I came around the corner and saw a wonderful scene, a canal that's a little bit wider than most of the canal that you see here in Venice, there's very good light on the left side, the buildings on the left side are very well illuminated, while the buildings on the right are in shade. There's a nice bridge in the midground, some boats along the canal, overall a very nice scene. And yet it's not really working all that well, you'll notice that some of the columns here, they kind of have a little bit more of a modern appearance and some of the buildings in fact kind of have a little bit newer appearance than I'd like, I kind of want that more classic look to Venice, some of the older buildings, some of the older dock…
