Get tips for photographing the world-famous floating city, Venice, Italy, with photographer, author, and educator Tim Grey.
- Hello, I'm Tim Gray and welcome to Venice, Italy. When you think of a bustling city, probably what comes to mind are buses, cars, taxis. Well, Venice is certainly a bustling city. But not with cars. Rather, with boats. Lots and lots of boats, moving around across the water up and down the canals. And that's part of the magic of Venice. Of course, as a photographer, when you're wandering around the narrow streets, along the canals and over the bridges, you're probably going to focus a lot of attention on the boats that are moving across the water, the canals themselves, the water, the bridges, lots of things here that are really magical and wonderful to photograph.
In this course, my focus is going to be on composition, so while I'll certainly talk about exposure settings and why I'm photographing a particular scene, I'm also going to talk about how I'm composing that scene and naturally, while I'm photographing here in Venice, Italy, you don't necessarily need to come to Venice to practice the techniques that I'll be talking about. The concepts that I'll talk about will relate to virtually any photographic situation. And so, I invite you to join me in Venice, Italy to help learn about photographic composition and to have some fun along the way.
